one of my biggest fears is that I’m a junior and so there is prom this year

like honestly I don’t want either of those things to happen
this is terrible
It’s like I feel like I’m supposed to go because of some sort of high school “right of passage”
but then again there is honestly no one at school who I think that I’d want to go with
like if my NFTY friends want to come crash my prom and go with me sure
or like if they want me to fly over to whereever they are and crash theirs I’m sure I could convince my parents to let me do that but
I’m kinda terrified otherwise

NFTY is the place where I feel that everyone cares about me, and thinks that I’m a person and that everyone values everyone else’s opinion and I just HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION FOR THE NEXT 94 DAYS UGH I miss them already

So my parents and I talked it through, and I’m no longer going to NFTY convention.
They’re worried about how much school I’d miss/jetlag (and what implications it’d have on my AP classes), and we made a deal that we’d go on another international venture if I missed out on this.
I really want to go, but I’d rather hold on to all of my NFTY-SAR events, and travel the world with my family on what will be one of our last trips before I go off to college.
I’m disappointed. Yeah, it’s already been a bad day.
They did say that I can come up with where to go this summer though, so if you guy have any suggestions on countries I should try to bug them to visit, please let me know. :)
